THE HAMILTON CITY BANDFANDANGO!

Our discerning readers know that every month is NZ Music Month here at HUP. Despite this we wanted to acknowledge it and do something special, something quite different, something a bit nuts that might just be the greatest invention of all time, and yes, I am including the toaster, nailclippers and frozen spinach in that assessment. Ladels and jellyspoons, I present to you The Bandfandango! *Cue sharp intakes of breath*

What in the name of Stephen Fry's chins is that I hear you enquire!  It is a battle of the bands competition with a difference....there's no competition and the bands don't actually exist. Not yet. Confused? Good!

Basically, individuals that are keen to form a new band and up for a bit of a challenge just need to send us an email, tell us what genres they are into and/or what bands they dig, what they want to do in a band (sing/drum/guitar/programme beats/trumpet etc) and then attend the launch night where names are picked out of hats and new bands are formed!

Each new band will then have 10 weeks to write and rehearse 3 new songs and one cover, to be performed at a series of shows. That's it really. What could possibly go wrong!
