Wellington pagan folk-metallers HEX hit Hamilton this coming Saturday, October 22nd, playing at Biddy Mulligan's, with Auckland's BOZO and Hamilton's own Blue Cross. The weekend of Oct 21/22 promises to be a great one in Hamiltron, with some of Aotearoa's neatest up and coming bands playing across two nights.
The Beths, fresh from supporting The Kills at The Powerstation, will headline Nivara Lounge on Friday Oct 21st, along with Hamilton's Celebrity Death Hoax (playing their second ever show) and Dunedin's Paul Cathro (Alizarin Lizard/Ha The Unclear). The following night, Saturday Oct 22nd, sees Wellington's HEX headline at Biddy Mulligan's along with Auckland's BOZO and Hamilton's Blue Cross. Both shows are just $10 on the door and will kick off around 9pm. In the meantime here's a little sampler or two for the uninitiated... Hamilton indie pop band DateMonthYear has released a new single. Spit Out The Sun is a cover and was part of a compilation album project called ‘Lost on a Highwire’ that saw Hamilton-based songwriter Michael Miller commission a number of performers to produce covers of his work! Spit Out the Sun is DateMonthYear’s first recording to feature the latest line-up of Emma Koretz, Brooke Baker and Tyler Leet, alongside long-standing member Trevor Faville. Click HERE for a listen.
