7 DAYS OF SPIRAL: DAY 5 - EXILED TONIGHT (FEAT. MATT BERNINGER OF THE NATIONAL)

Day 5 in our '7 Days of Spiral' series features another new song from the most recent album 'Doris and The Daggers'. 'Exiled Tonight' features one of a number of 'indie celebs' to feature on the LP, Matt Berninger of The National. Here's a description of the track in Spiral's own words...

Dylan meets Smog/Eric Bachmann. I tried to sing like Matt Berninger from the National, but of course couldn’t so he came and sang with me. It was the last song I had to finish. I had terrible lyrics and my engineer Dan said, "those suck. come back with something better”. Well, that night, I had a dream about Darius (Spiral's old drummer who sadly passed away) and how he was stuck in the afterlife.  I think finishing this song was a sign that we could move on. Deep Water!
