We threw some questions at the bands playing at this year's FUTURE CITY FESTIVAL. In this episode we look at the answers pigeoned back by Bloodlux!
HUP: Tell us about Bloodlux! Bloodlux: Hello we're called Bloodlux. Bloodlux is Chloe, Nathan, Wai and Alex. We're all from the Hamilton/Waikato area and we want to make nice melodic music with a little twist. We hope you like it! HUP: How would you describe your band to someone that hasn’t heard you before? Bloodlux: Like Fiona Apple attacking Metric with a granite boulder. HUP: What is our favourite song to play live? Bloodlux: 'In the Ground Tonight' just came together really well when we played it together first, and it really showcases a lot of our individual sounds and Chloe's vocals. HUP: Tell us about the best gig you’ve ever been to…(playing or not playing). Bloodlux’ Alex: Napalm Death at the Kings Arms in 2015 was incredible. Their energy is amazing, and it just gets to you. Music should make you feel like that, no matter what genre it is. Bloodlux’ Wai: Definitely Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds back in January 2017. The whole band was electric and Nick stage presence was massive. Highlight had to be him furiously shouting and pointing at me during a chorus of Mercy Seat! HUP: Who are you most looking forward to seeing at Future City 2018? Bloodlux: We haven't listened to everyone yet, but The Beths are on our shortlist for sure. They will be lots of fun.
